Alaskan Adventures – Paul Whittle
Paul returns with a talk about Alaska, just the thing for a late winter’s evening! Nevertheless, we think you will be inspired by some wonderful photographs and tales from his recent visit to this far-flung part of the world. (Paul’s fee supports several charities including World Vision, Prospect Burma, The Burma Children’s Fund and the Darjeeling Railway Community Support Group). All welcome.

Tim is a bulb expert(to say the least!) having been involved with his family run business for the last 20 years. It is an internet bulb company (www.bulbsdirect.co.uk) and has a vast selection os all types of bulbs including vegetables. Worth a look! Also, Tim will be bringing bulbs for sale on the evening. The treasurer of the community centre is a big fan of this site!

The Fascinating and Secret Life Of The Mole – Chris Stewart
Chris is a member of the Guild of British Molecatchers and the Traditional Molecatchers Register. A fully trained and experienced molecatcher he covers all aspects of this amazing and interesting creature. However, be warned, he may bring one with him!

The South Downs Way – Graham Harding
The South Downs Way covers a total of 100 miles and is practically on our doorstep. Graham and his wife completed the walk a couple of years ago. Although his talk is not floral related, it does include some fascinating aspects of geography, history and of the people they met along the way.

Women Gardeners In The 20th Century – Cherrill Sands
Local garden historian, Cherrill Sands, returns once again with an illustrated talk on women gardeners. The twentieth century brought emancipation for women, horticultural colleges, and for some, artistic fulfilment in the garden. Hear about creative women and their gardens, including Gertrude Jekyll, Vita Sackville-West and Beth Chatto amongst others. The evening concludes with mulled wine and mince pies to get us in the mood for Christmas.
